Posts expire after six months. A profile whose most recent post is eighteen months old reads as inactive. A profile with a post from last week reads as a business that is still operating and paying attention to its online presence. That impression - current, active, maintained - does influence the decision to call.
The post type that consistently earns its keep: addressing a specific objection or common question. If potential customers regularly wonder whether you serve the north side of the city, whether you work on weekends, what your lead time looks like during your busy season, or whether you offer senior discounts - a post that answers that question directly can move a fence-sitting searcher to act. It removes a barrier at the moment of decision.
Generic "Check out our spring specials!" posts with stock photos or promotional images do not do that work. They signal that a human filled a content calendar, not that a business cares about answering real customer questions.
